The Summer Adventures holiday book for primary school children offers activities, readings, exercises and intelligent games to review all the curricular subjects (language, mathematics, history, geography, science, English), and encourages summer learning and review.

The volume, colorful and engaging, allows children to consolidate the main contents learned during the school year to start the new class with greater confidence. The learning paths take into account the most recent scientific evidence from cognitive and pedagogical sciences.

Within the volume, reading and exercise activities are interspersed with intelligent games that children can play alone or in groups, and with ten illustrated charts that will guide them along the adventures of the protagonists: Plus, Fly and Slow.

Reading, exercises and intelligent games for spending a fun-filled summer


 

A new editorial project to offer children, from the first to the fifth grade of primary school, fun and engaging holiday homework. Colorful and stimulating, the tasks in each volume are designed to consolidate the main contents learned during the school year to start off the new school year with greater confidence.

The volumes

The volumes offer many activities enriched by games, to play alone or with friends, to make learning a playful moment, and can be done alone or in the company of an adult.  In fact, it is crucial that learning is accompanied by positive emotions, especially during the holiday period.

Structure of the Volumes

Each volume offers 1 story and 8 exercise sections for 8 weeks of summer: activities, readings, exercises and intelligent games to review Italian, mathematics, history, geography, science, English, and spend a fun summer.

 

Guide characters

Among the pages of the holiday books, the children will meet Fly, Slow and Plus, three inseparable friends who, after school every summer, leave on a unique and fun holiday, without forgetting to keep practicing everything they have learned in class.

Fly She is a real expert in reading, follow her instructions to become a great reader.

Slow Maybe he's slower than his friends, but he has never misspelled a word.

Plus She is an unbeatable mathematician. Easy to keep track of all those tentacles.

Collect clues and learn

In each volume, the three cute characters are involved in a new adventure: while doing their homework for the holidays, the children will have to solve riddles, find clues and read the comics following their precious suggestions!

Complete the tasks and collect the clues Help the three friends find a mysterious object. Complete the activities, get to the end of each section and solve the exercises on the Test yourself! pages. Count the points you have obtained and, if you have reached the indicated score, cut out the corner of the page to paste in the right place, on the indicated page.

The learning paths proposed in the volumes of Summer Adventures take into account the most recent scientific evidence from the cognitive and pedagogical sciences, and are divided into:

Presentation

Before starting work on educational content, the essential elements are taken up and presented by the characters.

Training

The training activities allow you to practice the main elements of the school content.

Refreshment

The refreshment activities intersperse the exercises and encourage the revision of the contents through game mechanics.

Monitoring

Monitoring allows you to check what you have learned and to check for any content that still needs practicing.

The author

Daniela Lucangeli: She is a full-time child psychology professor, vice rector of the University of Padova, president of the National Association for Specialized Teachers (CNIS), member of the International Academy for Research in Learning Disabilities (IARLD) and president of Mind4children Spin-off at the University of Padova, as well as author of numerous national and international scientific journals.
