Beat and repeat is an innovative, engaging and fun game to experiment with and improve motor coordination of the upper and lower limbs in a simple and intuitive way, learn basic rhythmic and musical elements, alone or with friends, and, at the same time, develop concentration, improve attention, memory, self-esteem, psychomotor coordination, musical instinct and cognitive abilities. The game is based on body percussion techniques, which consist in creating rhythmic-musical shapes to play your own body.

The game
The game cards allow you to choose the musical rhythm you want to create for the game.  According to the chosen rhythm, the cards are arranged to form a sequence.  Each card corresponds to a beat, while groups of 2,3 or 4 cards form a bar. Each coloured shape corresponds to a movement of the body. Each round takes place by performing in turn, from start to finish, the song created with the cards. The first player tries to perform the sequence, matching each beat with the corresponding gesture. Increase your speed, and those who make mistakes are eliminated!

People who have difficulty regulating their body movements may have the opportunity to experience using their body in a more positive and creative way. Furthermore, the game teaches recognition of and the ability to distinguish musical tempos, the movements and the rhythmic shapes.

HOW TO PLAY

Choose a musical rhythm and arrange the cards to form a sequence, each card corresponding to «a beat», while groups of 2,3 or 4 cards form «a tempo». Each coloured shape corresponds to a movement of the body. Each round takes place by performing in turn the “musical score” created with the cards from start to finish. The players try to perform the sequence, matching each beat with the corresponding gesture. Increase your speed and those who make mistakes are eliminated!
