The party game to spark conversation and make new friends
Gabriele Mari

The perfect party game to break the ice, get people talking and make new friends.
Designed for groups of 3 to 6 players aged 5 and up, Garden Party is a fast-paced, engaging game — ideal for family fun, but also great for classroom use in educational and inclusive group activities.
During the game, each player takes turns being the “guest of honour” and receives imaginary presents from their friends. But there’s a twist: the others must guess which of the six gift options the guest of honour would like most! Winning takes empathy, observation, and a dash of intuition.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES
How to play
In each round, one player takes on the role of the “birthday guest”. The others must guess which of the six gifts displayed on the table would be their favourite. Each player secretly selects the card corresponding to the gift they think the guest would like most. The birthday guest, meanwhile, assigns a “Preference” card to each gift – Love it, Like it, Indifferent, or Don’t like it – and then reveals their choices. Players earn points based on how closely their guesses match the guest’s preferences (using either the basic or advanced scoring system).
Play then passes to a new birthday guest, and the game ends when everyone has celebrated once or twice. The winner is the player with the highest total score. In the advanced mode, the Friendship cards can be used to add bonuses and penalties depending on how well players know the birthday guest.
