Teaching stations: Numbers 0-99

The book presents an innovative open teaching program focused on learning the numbers from 0 to 99 for the first and second grades of primary school: it provides useful materials and indications for teachers to carry out the activities through cards, markers and a journey map. Inserted in the narrative frame of a train journey in Japan, the stages include training in addition, subtraction and multiplication skills.

For each station, information is provided on:

• duration;
• setting up tables and materials;
• methods of implementation and teaching purposes;
• photocopiable operational sheets.

Teaching stations
Teaching stations is positioned within the broader framework of open teaching, centered on the concept of “autonomy”, in which the teacher plans a series of activities and each pupil becomes the protagonist of their own learning.
With this methodology, many different approaches can be proposed for learning the contents, alternating hands-on activities with games and classic exercises on worksheets, in predefined “stage” circuits.
