Mathematics with your fingers

The volume presents a primary prevention pa aimed at children aged between 3 and 6 and their educators, which can be followed not only in the classroom, but also outside the school context.

In workshop form, the volume offers games and activities designed to strengthen fine motor skills and finger discrimination. In this way, the little ones become aware of their own body schema by putting their hands “at the service of numbers”, with the aim of manipulating and controlling them.

Accompanied by the cute finger puppet, Ditino the Little Caterpillar, the little ones and their educators will follow a path divided into 12 meetings to refine:

• The use and awareness of fingers and hands;
• The ability to point and touch certain targets with your fingers;
• The knowledge and dissociation of individual fingers;
• The simultaneous use of multiple fingers;
• Fine motor manipulation skills;
• Graphic motor skills.
