The volume theoretically frames the etiopathogenesis of the Specific Learning Disorder, presenting its cultural, social, family and scholastic repercussions. It illustrates the test tools available, the synergies to be activated, the enabling and rehabilitative perspectives. It is divided into three sections that guide the reader through the crucial steps in managing the Learning Disorder.

The first part is dedicated to the theoretical framework of SLD, from consolidated knowledge to new research perspectives, the presentation of neuropsychological models, the expression of the disorder in particular associated conditions, the regulatory framework that guides and directs the actions of the clinician and the ‘teacher.

The second part focuses on the observation and assessment of learning difficulties: in this section space has been given not only to the diagnostic moment, outlining useful procedures and tools, but also to the early stages of learning development, when the disorder is still not overt, but it is necessary to pay attention to the many signs that could precede it.

Finally, the enabling and rehabilitation moment is the focus of the third section: strengthening, the intervention declined in its various possibilities, the interaction with the School. A shared vision, in the awareness that the most effective work is that which is done together.
