Writing Pathways is an innovative teaching kit designed to support the planning, writing and revision of texts in a structured and conscious way. Intended for boys and girls aged 10 and over who have already mastered the technical foundations of writing, it is suitable from Year 4 of primary school through to the first two years of upper secondary school.
The materials guide pupils through the three stages of the writing process — analysing the communicative situation, planning/drafting, and revising — using illustrated cards and posters that make the logical and cognitive steps involved in text production clearly visible. Each card presents key questions, practical suggestions and hands-on activities, turning the act of writing into a real journey, supported by engaging visual metaphors.
A valuable tool for overcoming the “fear of the blank page”, learning to write coherent, effective and well-structured texts, and developing metacognitive reflection and critical thinking skills.
Objectives:
• 14 cards: GETTING READY FOR THE JOURNEY… THINKING
• 6 cards: IDEATION, PLANNING AND DRAFTING
• 12 cards: REVISION
• 20 cards: TASK CARDS
