The line of 100 offers a new and revolutionary method to work through the mathematics curriculum of the second grade of primary school. It is the natural continuation of the path started in first grade with The Line of 20, but it can also be adopted in classes that have never used the Analogical Method before, since it represents the most natural way of learning for each child.
The book contains exercises to practice both mental and written calculations, as well as word problems. Much attention is paid to instrumental learning such as multiplication tables. The general approach is faithful to the proposal of easy, simple, teaching techniques which do not represent any obstacle to the learning of children.
The guide presents the theoretical framework and practical instructions for each exercise.

How to use The Line of 100The Line of 100 is a type of analogical calculator, like The Line of 20, which is able to simulate mental calculation operations. It can be compared to a wardrobe with 10 drawers which contains 100 balls neatly organized: 10 in each drawer. To begin with, insert the seven cards into the compartment of the instrument so they can always be kept together. As needed, the student will change the order of the cards by putting the correct one at the front. For addition: just use the card with the colored background and the white balls. Moving the bars to the right will reveal the quantities requested in the exercise. Soon students will learn to read according to the rules of sudden perception. For subtraction: just close the bars to cover the balls. The answer can be read by moving the card up, which makes the numbers appear. For multiplication: turn the card over to use the side with the white background, and move the bars to form square or rectangular “grids” of dots. By pushing up on the card, the pythagorean chart will appear, which gives the numerical answer. Naturally the topic of times tables is explained in more detail in another moment.
