Radio Victory<\/em> is a multi-role gamebook<\/strong> designed<\/strong> for<\/strong> youngers aged 12 and up<\/strong>. It offers an engaging way to learn \u2014 or revise \u2014 key themes of the Italian Resistance<\/strong> during the Second World War<\/strong>, including the role of women, the harshness of daily life, and the significance of Allied Intelligence.<\/p>\n

The game is suitable both for home use<\/strong> \u2014 playing with friends or family \u2014 and for use in the classroom<\/strong>, as a tool to support historical learning. Although it is a role-playing game, it does not require a game master: the facilitator (who can be one of the players or, in a classroom setting, the teacher) does not need to be an expert historian, as the game provides clear and comprehensive instructions that serve as a helpful guide.<\/p>\n

HOW TO PLAY<\/p>\n

Each player (alone or in groups of up to 30 people) takes on the role of one of the five available characters (fighter, messenger, radio operator, guide, recruit) through their own story booklet. The events unfold in parallel: each group reads, makes decisions and experiences the story at its own pace, without turns, but choices can affect others through the \u201cAce\u201d card system.<\/p>\n

The game is divided into three Acts<\/strong>: at the end of each Act, all groups must finish before moving on to the next. During the game, players face challenges using skill cards<\/strong> (vigour, technique, willpower, empathy), manage equipment and conditions<\/strong> (wounds, weaknesses) with tiles and markers, and collect Radio Victory points, which will determine each character\u2019s ending.<\/p>\n

One player takes on the role of Referee, preparing the materials and coordinating the game, but no expert master is required: you just read, choose and let yourself be drawn into the story.<\/p>\n

A game lasts about one hour<\/strong> (plus 15 minutes for preparation and 30 minutes for debriefing), during which participants live through a historical and educational experience that blends individual choices, group collaboration, and reflection on the meaning of the Resistance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
