The series<\/p>\n

The Writing and Reading Workshop (WRW)<\/strong> is the most popular approach to teaching and learning reading and writing<\/strong>. Born in the United States in the Seventies, developed at Columbia University and also widespread in Italy in recent years, the WRW method can be used in both primary and secondary schools.<\/p>\n

The approach offers a writing workshop with mini-lessons and materials ready for the teacher and tools to plan other work programmes based on the skill level of the class.<\/p>\n

In a rigorous but flexible framework, children and young people experiment from a workshop perspective with the possibility of writing authentic<\/strong> texts <\/strong>focusing on their personality and interests.<\/p>\n

All editorial and training proposals in the Writing and Reading Workshop Method are in collaboration with the Italian Writing Teachers<\/em> group.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

THE AUTHORS<\/p>\n

Lorena Gloria Dicati,<\/strong> teacher in a primary school in Monselice, in the province of Padua, who has always been interested in a laboratory approach to teaching, found an answer to her questions for effective teaching in the WRW method. She is part of the Italian Writing Teachers group.<\/p>\n

Luca Vaudagnotto, <\/strong>teaches Italian in the small primary school in Saint-Marcel (AO), where he lives. He approached WRW to find an answer to the question \u201cHow can I better teach reading and writing?\u201d and followed various training sessions with the teachers of the Italian Writing Teachers group.<\/p>\n

Michela Riggio, <\/strong>teacher in the primary school of Saccolongo in the province of Padua. Always looking for educational proposals that can respond to children’s desires to do, experiment and learn, she found a methodological approach tailored to each student in the WRW method.<\/p>\n

Loredana Semperlotti, <\/strong>is a teacher in the primary school of Saccolongo in the province of Padua. Constantly looking for methods and tools capable of making the learning of her students meaningful, she found a clear, incisive and effective methodological approach with the WRW method.<\/p>\n

Jenni Poletti Riz, <\/strong>teacher and blogger, was the first to introduce and experiment in Italy with the Writing and Reading Workshop (WRW), an approach created at Columbia University. Every year she holds courses throughout Italy on WRW and especially on methodological innovation.<\/p>\n

Silvia Pognante, <\/strong>Literature teacher at the “Pascoli” secondary school in Montepulciano (SI), she has always been involved in reading and writing education. Representative of the reading group @ladridilibri for children aged 11 to 16, she is a member of the editorial team and author of italianwritingteachers.it, author of the blog laboratoridiparole.com and trainer on the pedagogy of the Writing and Reading Workshop.<\/p>\n

Daniela Pellacani, <\/strong>teaches literature at the lower secondary school in Carpi (MO). He is the leader of a reading group for teenagers. He carries out training courses on WRW for various training institutions and has published articles and materials on this teaching methodology.<\/p>\n

Elisa Turrini, <\/strong>an Italian teacher, focuses on training and information, is a member of her school’s library committee, and collaborates with local authorities in her city to promote a network for the enhancement and development of educational services.<\/p>\n

Ilaria Bernecich<\/strong> teaches humanities in a small school in the countryside outside Milan, where she is responsible for the Reading Education Project and the school library. She is a member of the Italian Writing Teachers group.<\/p>\n

Simona Malfatti<\/strong>, trainer with the IWT group. Together with a passionate group of teachers, organises “Lettorinfiore”, a literature festival inspired by the Writing and Reading Workshop (WRW).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
