Escape Rooms are real or virtual settings<\/strong> where one is required to \u00abhunt\u00bb for objects, puzzles, clues and solutions in order to unlock the \u00abfinal key\u00bb needed to escape or exit the space. The Escape Room methodology in teaching<\/strong> is certainly innovative and fascinating but also complex and structured. Using them, and most of all, planning and creating them activates both disciplinary and transversal competences of varying nature<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The book<\/p>\n

The innovative volume Teaching with Escape Rooms<\/em> offers an in-depth theoretical part on escape rooms, with instructions and tutorials on creating them at school<\/strong>, and advice, secrets and tips, explaining how to create virtual settings using digital tool and online resources<\/strong>. Various Escape Rooms<\/strong> programmes for different subjects <\/strong>are offered, designed to be used in class for the involvement of all pupils.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organisation of the book<\/p>\n

The volume is divided into two parts:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The first is a theoretical and methodological part<\/strong>, comprising an introductory chapter on Escape Rooms<\/strong> and their use in teaching, and further chapters containing tutorials<\/strong> that show you how to create them, and that illustrate teaching procedures and provide examples<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The second contains the Escape Rooms programmes for different subjects, <\/strong>which have been designed for primary school and lower secondary school, <\/strong>but can be adapted to other contexts, in which pupils use logic to solve mysteries and go on real and virtual adventures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

  • A treasure hunt \u2013 it involves competences related to history, geography, language and mathematics<\/strong><\/li>\n

  • Virtual programmes: in a house in the woods \u2013 for working on language <\/strong>competences in lower secondary school<\/li>\n
  • Virtual programmes: in an ancient villa \u2013 for working on arithmetic<\/strong> competences in lower secondary school<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
