Playing and learning are two concepts which are strongly entwined and interconnected: the recreational dimension, if well structured, can encourage not only the acquisition of a subject but also the strengthening of thought processes and motivation to learn. Turning an actual educational strategy into a game, this book contains recreational proposals and suggestions which, thanks to the presence of a competent adult and interaction amongst peers, are aimed at practicing language, widening lexis and developing narrative skills.
The first part of the book introduces theoretical principles and explains the methodology and articulation of the activities proposed. The second part is concentrated on the games, describing how to play them in detail, their objectives and the materials.
Targeted at children in their last year of nursery school and primary school —but useful as a remedial tool for foreign pupils or those with learning difficulties —, Games and activities for linguistic enrichment comes complete with an easy-to-use kit, made up of:
• 20 games (with a total of 100 different activities)
• 10 scenes
• 20 smile tokens
• illustrated material with a total of 444 cards, 276 tiles and 28 cartoons.
All the activities are based on the educational and didactic objectives recently set out by ministerial guidelines. They can be easily tailored and adapted according to the linguistic context and the type of class you use them in.
