Psychomotor play and drawing are an excellent support for cognitive processing. A book of stories is perfect for a psychomotor reworking of the contents displayed in fairy tales, which can stimulate a greater knowledge of one’s body and one’s emotional experience through movements and sensory experiences.

Play is, in fact, one of the main activities for children who simultaneously train the emotional, cognitive, motor and relational sphere in this way. Fairy tales and play are therefore a combination that further strengthens this potential.

This book of colour-illustrated stories was created as a true “workbook” of notes / cues, something to colour, write and draw, having experimented concretely with the dynamics of narration and play. By carrying out the proposed activities, the reader can create changes and progressions to be made.

Whenever a fairy tale / activity is re-read, it will be enriched with all the ideas resulting from the previous readings. For each story, three possible phases are suggested:

  • reading of the story and preparation, where required;
  • bringing into play the proposed activity: based on each story, the consequent activity may relate to symbolic play, global motor skills, manual work, etc .;
  • re-elaboration of the emotions experienced, through conversation and drawing.

For parents, caregivers and teachers of children aged 3 to 8, these fairy tales are mainly intended to tell the child: “I listened to you and understood you”.
