A practical and complete volume aimed at outlining the status of the art of strategic psychotherapy, developed at the Mental Research Institute (MRI) of Palo Alto (CA, USA).  It proposes a series of specific intervention methods that allow for obtaining extensive and lasting psychological changes in a short time and solving a wide range of personal and relational problems.  It does not focus on the origin of the problem, that is, on its causes, but on the factors that maintain and feed it, as well as on what to do to solve it.

After a first part dedicated to the historical and epistemological roots of Strategic Psychotherapy, the volume illustrates 80 intervention techniques, organized according to 8 macro-categories, systematizing decades of research and clinical practice.

For each technique, objectives, operating methods, effects and possible countermeasures, suggestions and clinical cases are reported, and potential lines of development of this perspective.
