The little pirates and the precious treasure is a fun and colourful workbook for boys and girls aged 5.  Thanks to simple and immediate instructions, the 48 proposed educational games, enriched with stickers and a treasure to colour, support the development of fundamental preschool skills:

Pre-graphism: training in pre-writing art starting in the early years of kindergarten is essential, because it teaches how to coordinate the movement of the hands and eyes and to recognize forms and graphic procedures for future writing tasks. Among the proposed activities: paths to follow, dotted figures to trace, drawings to be completed, etc.

Visual-perceptual skills: these skills allow us to recognize, discriminate and rework visual information and to attribute meaning to it within our system of knowledge. Among the proposed activities: matching exercises, recognition of shadows, sequences to be completed, etc.

Logical and mathematical skills: actions, such as grouping, ordering, counting, estimating, and comparing, allow us to explore and interpret the reality around us in a conscious way. Among the proposed activities: numeration exercises, quantity/number combinations, quantity comparisons, sets, recognition of geometric shapes, etc.

Comprehension and semantics: verbal comprehension is the ability to understand language and it is fundamental for language production. Semantic competence allows us to grasp the true meaning of language and to organize these meanings into categories. Among the proposed activities: exercises such as “find the intruder”, verbal dictations, groupings by semantic area, etc.

Global metaphonological skills: metaphonological skills include syllabic synthesis and segmentation skills, auditory discrimination of words and non-words, recognition of the initial and final syllable of words.

In this adventure, the pirates set out in search of the precious treasure. The child will help them by completing the activities and placing the stickers from the games on the 6 pages with the key icon.  The stickers can be found on the sheet at the end of the block. Eventually, he/she will be able to colour the chest with the discovered treasure … and become part of the pirate crew!
