An original series that proposes revision activities for the summer holidays on the main topics studied in first grade – Italian, mathematics, history, science, and geography – disguised as fun brain teasers that mark the stages of an exciting journey in a distant country.  With the twins Edo and Lara, their dog Biscotto, and their zany aunt Olga, the children become the main characters in an interesting trip to Peru, searching for an ancient medallion that has gone missing.  Bit by bit as they complete the worksheets, which increase in difficulty, the children will have to attach the stickers of the equipment (first part) and complete the final puzzle (second part), thus solving the enigma.

Within a richly illustrated frame, they will be able to: • consolidate reading and writing skill, logic and mathematics, temporal sequences, body parts, materials, topological concepts, paths and maps, etc.; • have fun with stickers; • learn some new and interesting facts about Peru, in an intercultural context.

Brain Teaser Games

With the twins Edo and Lara, their dog Biscotto, and their zany aunt Olga, summer homework becomes an adventure!

From the imagination of Claudio Ripamonti (Crip) comes an original series that offers activities to review the main school subjects for primary school (Italian, mathematics, history, science, and geography) during the summer holidays. The activities are proposed in the form of enigmatic games, which make the revision work fun and enjoyable.

Brain Teaser Games – First Grade

Edo & Lara and the lost medallion

With the twins Edo and Lara, their dog Biscotto, and their zany aunt Olga, the children become the main characters in an interesting trip to Peru, searching for an ancient medallion that has gone missing. Activities to review the first grade school subjects (Italian, mathematics, history, geography, and science) are proposed in the form of fun brain teaser games.

Brain Teaser Games – Second Grade

Edo & Lara and the dolphin mystery

In this book, the twins Edo and Lara, their dog Biscotto and kind aunt Olga lead the children around Greece, searching for a beautiful dolphin that has disappeared from the bay. In this adventure, activities to review the second grade school subjects (Italian, mathematics, history, geography, and science) are proposed in the form of fun brain teaser games.

Brain Teaser Games – Third Grade

Edo and Lara and the secret of the spring

Together with Edo and Lara, their dog Biscotto and funny Aunt Olga, the children become the protagonists of a trip to Australia, to discover the mystery of the spring from which no more water flows to the pond. In a richly illustrated format, children can review the third grade school subjects (Italian, mathematics, history, geography, and science) in the form of fun brain teaser games.

Brain Teaser Games – Fourth Grade

Edo and Lara and the legend of the dragon

In this book, the children join the twins Edo and Lara, their funny Aunt Olga and their dog Biscotto in an exciting trip to China, to solve the mystery of a scary dragon. In a richly illustrated format, children can review the third grade school subjects (Italian, mathematics, history, geography, and science) in the form of fun brain teaser games.

The structure of the book

The worksheets are divided into two parts:

In the FIRST PART (sheets 1-40) you need to collect all the equipment. When aunt Olga says a riddle, you need to stick the correct sticker on the camping page, wherever you want. After you have got all 8 stickers (by choosing carefully because there are extras!), you are ready for the second part of the trip.

In the SECOND PART (sheets 41-80) other activity sheets are found. Here, aunt Olga will show you which pieces of the puzzle need to be inserted in the grid at the back of the book. When all 16 pieces are put together, the mystery of the ancient medallion (in the first book) or the mystery of the pretty dolphin (in the second book) will finally be solved!
