Sentences, thoughts and tools always hide multiple possible interpretations according to how they are seen and used in space and time, in different contexts and in their relationships with others.
For the remediation of language skills — oral and written comprehension and expression — it is essential to learn how to «take apart» a situation, a picture or a story and put it into units of minimal significance (phrasal structures) so that it can then be all put back together starting from alternative points of view, according to different objectives.
Story puzzles, which is suitable for children aged 4-5 years and above but can also be used for the over 10s in the event that expressive difficulties persist, has been designed to allow children to use connectives appropriately, put together individual sentences according to language rules and adapt verb forms to the thought processes of whom is telling the story or to the journey you want the person reading or listening to follow.
The different activities and accompanying material are presented to the children as a game and are divided into:
• Puzzle boards
• Illustrated cartoons
• Sentences to connect
This enables them to tackle the work calmly and find the motivation to repeat the exercises several times over: an essential condition in order to gain fluidity in verbal expression.
