Having a good level of readiness in childhood allows you to face the challenges of learning that can arise in the future with serenity. If some deficiencies are detected in small children, these can be tackled and even successfully resolved, through specific tasks within a cognitive enhancement programme.

After a detailed explanation of the aspects to be measured, the text offers a series of tests to be administered in a playful way to assess the cognitive readiness of children at 3, 4 and 5 years, to check how “ready to learn” they are in view of the transition to primary school.

For each age group, the tests allow the identification of the starting level of the pupils at the beginning of the school year, and the progress and effectiveness of the interventions implemented by the end of the school year.

The skills assessed in the book are: memorization, knowledge, understanding, reasoning, creating, comparing, and counting.

In the Appendix, charts where the teacher can record the results of each child in the class are provided.  Attached, and in the online resources, materials to be used during the test (coloured and cut out) can be found.
